Winners of the MEP Tourism Project 2021 were recently treated to a day of work experience with the China-focussed digital marketing agency Qumin in Camden, London.
The winners were students from Mayfield Grammar School Gravesend, Hove Park School and Bay House School, who all produced amazing marketing campaigns for their local areas during the 4-day event in July 2021. Qumin’s CEO, Arnold Ma, was on the judging panel for the final student showcase and was so impressed by what he saw that he invited the students for a day of work experience in the Qumin office.

Accompanied by their teachers, the students arrived bright and early on the morning of Wednesday 17th November, and were first of all introduced to two members of staff: Emma Wang and Feiyang Xue. Both Emma and Feiyang work on the social media team at Qumin and are heavily involved in running multiple social media accounts across TikTok and Instagram, as well as starring in and editing the video content themselves!
After a quick tour of the office, the students were then able to watch Emma and Feiyang plan and film a video for Qumin’s @oneteafood account on TikTok, in which they sampled and reviewed a couple of self-heating Hot Pots. Watch the end result here!

It was then time for the students to plan their own TikTok videos. With some help from the Qumin team, it was decided that the theme of the videos would be first reactions to sampling food, with Emma and Feiyang trying English bites and the students trying Chinese delicacies.
The students decided how each of them would be involved in the videos: some wanted to take a lead role and star in the videos, while others wanted to stay more “behind the scenes” and get involved with the directing, filming and staging. Armed with a budget that Qumin kindly provided, the students went shopping in Camden to find and buy the snacks that would feature in the videos, then arrived back at the office ready to go.
The edited videos are now all live on TikTok and can be found on Qumin’s @oneteafood TikTok account. The direct links to the videos are embedded below.
