2021 Young Photographers’ Competition

— Entries for the UCL IOE Confucius Institute Young Photographers’ Competition for 2021 are now closed. You can view this year’s winners here

The competition has been running for seven years and has seen some excellent photography from young people across the world. The aim of the competition is to dispel the cultural stereotypes of China through photography and show the vast country through the eyes of young people. The Young Photographers’ Competition is generously supported by the Chinese Embassy in London.

How to enter

The categories for this year’s competition are:

  • Chinese stories
  • Chinese community and friends
  • Characters of China (under 14s only)
  • My Chinese studies
  • Chinese design at home

To enter the competition, email your photos (with a title, your name, school and age) to chinesenetworks@ucl.ac.uk.

All entries must be received no later than Friday 31st December 2021. Please include your name, school and age with all entries.

2020 ‘Art Re-imagined’ Winner – Aiko Akenzua

The photography competition is open to anyone aged 18 years and under. There are a range of gift card prizes for winners and runners-up. The schools of students that place first will also receive a prize.
