Young Photographers’ Competition – Winners

2021

We are pleased to announce the winners for the 2021 Young Photographers’ Competition, open to UK students of Chinese aged 18 and under. The aim of the competition was to dispel the cultural stereotypes of China through photography and show the vast country through the eyes of young people.

Entrants were able to enter their work in any of five themes, shown in the headings below. These themes were designed to give pupils ideas on how they could explore Chinese culture whilst in the UK. We asked them demonstrate engagement with their chosen theme in their work and encouraged them to be creative and inventive. Many entrants rose to the challenge, making it difficult to pick the winners.

We’d like to thank everyone that entered this competition and those that supported them in doing so, for example their schools and families. We also thank the Chinese Embassy for generously supporting this year’s competition.
