WHO?
This course is for new and aspiring leaders within the Chinese teaching community in a first leadership role (e.g. Confucius Classroom Manager, MEP Manager, Head of Mandarin Chinese).
WHAT?
Three days at UCL IOE CI with sessions focusing on a range of early leader issues, including:
- Identifying and developing your leadership style
- Communication skills
- Being proactive
- Time management
- Mentoring and monitoring
- Evidence-based development
- Performance management processes
- Creating teamwork and a clear department vision
TEACHING
This course will involve presentations by education professionals familiar with the MFL context, and specifically the Chinese teaching context. These will be interactive and will include problem-solving activities and discussion. You may be asked to complete tasks in preparation for a session. Following each day, there will be a task to complete.
ASSESSMENT
In order to complete the course and receive a certificate, all participants must attend all sessions and provide evidence of project completion.
