2021 Peking University Study Program Eligibility Criteria
UCL IOE Confucius Institute and Peking University would like to announce that IOE Confucius Classroom students will be offered the chance to take up a Yuke 预科 (pre-university) scholarship from the Center for Language Education and Cooperation中外语言交流合作中心 (CLEC 语合中心) to study Chinese for one year ,or one semester, at the prestigious Peking University (PKU), Beijing.
Upon completion of the Yuke for one year, international students who have passed the evaluation to reach the standards, obtain excellent results academically and perform well can be admitted directly to undergraduate study at Peking University if they like.
Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens in good health, aged between 17 and 23. The opportunities are aimed at any students passing HSK level 3 and HSKK beginner level at your school by the time when handing in the application, intending to study Chinese language or relevant courses at the university with the following criteria:
A. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study
i. Chinese Language and Literature
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
ii. Chinese Language Study
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3).
B. Scholarship for One-Semester Study
Applicants should achieve a score of at least 180 on the HSK (level 3) and have score on the HSKK (primary level).
Scholarship Coverage & Criteria
Scholarship winners are exempt from Registration, Tuition and Accommodation Fees for twin rooms at Zhongguanyuan Global Village on campus; Comprehensive insurance fee and provided Monthly Allowances: 2500RMB.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
- Applications will be accepted from Mar. 16 to Apri. 10, 2021.
- Applicants should log onto the PKU International Student Online Application System ( http://www.studyatpku.com ), complete the application form, submit it and then print a hardcopy for reference.

Applicants should log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website at http://cis.chinese.cn set up an individual account, complete and submit the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Form online. Then upload the scanned copies of relevant supporting documents. Print the form.

PKU study program application timeline
The application for the 2021-2022 PKU Study program to the IOE Confucius Institute is open from now until the end of April 2021.
PKU study programme course structure:
There are two terms a year: Term 1- September to January/February
Term 2- February to July
The structure of the course will involve 20 hours of study per week. An exam will be applied at the end of each term. A PKU certificate will be awarded to the students who successfully complete/pass the course.

Students are welcome to apply to study a degree course in any other subjects at PKU for the subsequent years. PKU scholarships will be available for candidates to apply for degree courses.
