HANBAN TEACHER CPD TRAINING SUMMER TERM – JUNE 2020

Our Summer Hanban Teacher CPD training took place online, during May and June 2020.

A series of three online CPD training events over the past couple of months were a great opportunity for our Hanban teachers currently working in schools across the country to attend expert-led workshops, share knowledge and skills as well as celebrate their achievements.

The sessions covered a range of areas with some aiming to improve teaching (How to Keep Learners Active) and others on using technology to enhance engagement (Making short films by using Adobe Sparks and the use of Padlet). Valuable teaching resources were shared and opportunities for the next steps were discussed. The training was also flavoured with cultural sessions on British theatre, galleries, poetry and an introduction to Gaeilge.

Additionally, teachers had the chance to get an update from Katharine Carruthers, IOE Confucius Institute Director and Ms Qi Min, IOE Confucius Institute Chinese Director.

A very successful academic year is almost complete and the teachers were pleased to take the opportunity to look back at the journey and to celebrate what they have achieved.  Their invaluable contributions were highly praised by their host schools.

We would like to thank all the presenters for their support in delivering a training programme that was put together by the IOE CI National Network Coordinator, Xiaoming Zhu.

We look forward to continuing to work with all teachers returning next year and for those leaving us, we wish you best of luck and happy teaching!

“Many thanks for your training, from which I learned a lot.!” Long Jie – Torquay Boys Grammar School
