Getting to grips with Mandarin grammar teaching – Part 2

The second and final part of the IOE Confucius Institute’s ‘Getting to grips with Mandarin grammar teaching’ took place on Friday and Saturday of last week. The course was delivered by the IOE CI National Network Coordinator, Xiaoming Zhu and Teacher Training Coordinator, Philippa Vallely.

Part 2 took the theoretical ideas from Part 1 of the course and looked at all the ways these ideas can be applied in the classroom. With a lot of focus on practical activities, the teachers really enjoyed working together to create games and activities for teaching grammar. At the end of the course, teachers even decided to create their own communal WeChat group so that ideas and resources can be shared more easily between participants.
