Young Photographers Competition 2015

Last year saw the first Young Photographer’s Competition held by the UCL IOE Confucius Institute for Schools, celebrating World Confucius Day.

‘Wind’ by Serena Conn – 2014 Winner of Unexpected China category

We will be running the competition again this year, with an exhibition to be held in the main reception of the UCL IOE building, displaying winning entries and runners-up.We welcome entries from young people aged 18 and under*. To enter, you do not have to have been to China, but you do need to apply some creativity! Each individual photograph entered must include a title and a brief description. Each portfolio entry must include 100 words, describing your experience.

Entries are now invited in the following categories; “China in my hometown” (entries for UK-based students), “Me, My School and China” (primary only category), “Changing China” (Portfolio of five photographs), “Wild China” andChina Camp’s Choice” (winners of the China Camps popular vote) Prizes will be given to the top two entries in each category, and your photographs will be included in a gallery exhibition at the UCL IOE in September, 2015.   • All entries must be your own work
  • Images must not be digitally altered
  • Only digital images can be accepted
  • Up to 5 individual photographs are allowed
  • Parents’ permission to enter is required if you are under 16
