We are excited to announce that the programme for our 15th Annual Chinese Teaching Conference is now live. The theme of the 2018 Conference, ‘Thinking globally, acting locally: motivating Mandarin learners around the globe’, is reflected in the workshops and plenary sessions featured throughout the two-day event.

The Conference plenaries for 2018 will see academics from a range of global institutions discussing such topics as the benefits of bilingualism and the complexities of teaching Chinese characters. The Conference workshops will highlight some of the major areas of Chinese language learning with emphasis placed on topics that include creating immersive environments, primary teaching, teacher-led technology, engaging parents, as well as teacher-focus on the plenary discussions of motivating Mandarin learners.

The 2018 Conference will also include the Conference exhibition which hosts a range of organisations that specialise in areas such as educational trips to China, Mandarin educational resources, GCSE exam boards and education charities with a China focus. The Conference dinner will take place on the evening of Friday 15th and is a great opportunity for networking and seeing familiar faces from the Chinese teaching world.
