On Friday 24 January 2014, Highdown School hosted the first ever Mandarin Teachmeet in Berkshire, in association with IOE Confucius Institute and Vocab Express.

Mandarin teachers from nearby schools and as far as Birmingham and Warwick all came to share outstanding teaching and learning strategies. The highlights are: using songs to master sentences; creating crazy stories to learn Chinese characters as well as Highdown’s unique technique of learning tones using colours.

It was a perfect opportunity for networking and everyone left feeling inspired and ready to try out new ideas in their classrooms!
