The Language Trends Survey 2015/16 has been published.
The document is the latest in a series of annual reports on language teaching based on online surveys completed by teachers in representative samples of schools from across the country. It provides us with the state of language learning in primary and secondary schools in England.
Chinese is categorised as one of the lesser taught languages and there are differences between the state sector and the independent sector.
[Chinese is] offered by 13 per cent of state schools and 46 per cent of independent schools.
