IOE CI Job Vacancy: Mandarin Excellence Programme Coordinator

IOE CI is now recruiting to the post of Mandarin Excellence Programme Coordinator .

There is a huge variety in the role of MEP Programme Coordinator. Whoever is appointed will work closely with schools across the programme providing support to teachers online and through school visits. The Coordinator will work on developing innovative teaching resources and assessments (the hurdle tests), and planning and leading the delivery of teacher training events and MEP headteacher and teacher meetings. The role also involves working with our MEP partners at the British Council in delivering the Marketing & Communications strategy and in developing the teaching programme for the intensive learning for students in China.

We are also keen to bring together work from researchers, teachers involved in action research, and student-teachers – to show how teachers can become involved in research in their classrooms and how collaborations can happen and see this, too, as an important strand of developing and refining pedagogy for the MEP and wider field. There are core requirements for post holders, but there is also plenty of scope to develop engagement with MEP schools, teachers and pupils and their parents in new and interesting ways.

We work as a team at IOE CI. The programme is delivered with the support of the MEP delivery team, the wider IOE CI team, the British Council MEP team, and of course with the wider team of MEP teachers and headteachers who are delivering the programme in schools. There is plenty of interaction with IOE colleagues in PGCE Languages and the Centre for Applied Linguistics as we develop our planned research projects.

Closing Date for applications: 20 May 2018
