CNY at Oundle School and Sir Roger Manwood’s School

In celebration of the Year of the Pig, we are featuring a series of blogposts on our website to highlight the Chinese New Year celebrations of Confucius Classroom and Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP) schools. For the second post in the series, we feature two schools’ celebrations, Oundle School and Sir Roger Manwood’s School.

Oundle School

Oundle School celebrated Chinese New Year in style with its annual outing of the Dragon. Usually the Dragon is sleeping in the Confucius Classroom, but in celebration of the Chinese New Year, nine pupils took it out to be showcased around the town. Many stopped in their tracks to see it. Oundle School also had a whole school Chinese lunch for 1,300 pupils, to celebrate the Year of the Pig!

Sir Roger Manwood’s School

Sir Roger Manwood’s School is one of our newest Confucius Classroom schools. Students from Year 7 to Year 11 were involved in a variety of different activities to celebrate the Year of the Pig including Hongbao Making and Chinese Dance…

As well as a Chinese New Year Year 7 Assembly, Chopsticks competition and Taichi Fan Dance…

We would like to thank Oundle School and Sir Roger Manwood’s School for sharing their events with us.

Keep your eyes pealed for the next Chinese New Year blogposts next week!
