The IOE Confucius Institute’s 23rd Annual Chinese Teaching Conference will take place on Saturday 10th October at UCL’s Institute of Education, 20 Bedford Way, London.

Offering a variety of opportunities to upskill, Chinese teachers will deliver workshops covering five distinct strands:
- Learning Strategies in Teaching and Learning of Chinese
- Developing Proficiency in Chinese through Qualifications
- AI in Teaching and Learning of Chinese
- From Cultural to Intercultural Learning
- Enhancing and Enriching Learning of Chinese
We are delighted to welcome Professor Li Wei, Director and Dean of UCL Institute of Education; Professor Zhu Hua, Professor of Language Learning and Intercultural Communication at UCL IOE and Interim Director of the IOE Centre for Chinese Language Education; and Professor Sabrina Qiong Yu of Newcastle University, who will deliver keynote speeches. We will also hear from four former university students whose Mandarin-learning journeys have led them into professional careers where they use Mandarin in their work.
Spend the day catching up with colleagues from across the Chinese teaching community, exploring innovative classroom practice, discovering how research can inform teaching, learning how teachers are using AI to save time, and gaining fresh ideas to take back to your classroom.
