Conference 2014 Call for Proposals

Are you interesting in presenting a workshop at our 11th Annual Chinese Conference? Or do you know someone who has a good idea and experience share?

We would like to encourage you to submit a conference proposal and warmly welcome submissions from all stages and backgrounds. Workshop speakers will be invited by the IOE Confucius Institute team, based on the best proposals received.

Deadline: Send in your session proposal before 5pm, Friday 21 February 2014

China today
Learning today
Curriculum models and transitions
Assessment
Cross-curricular links
Partnerships and sustainability
Teacher development and sustainability
Primary school Mandarin Chinese
Sixth form and transitions to university

Guidance for session proposals

Session proposals should be brief (100- 250 words) and include the following:

a working title
the subject matter
the format of the session
clear learning outcome(s) for participants
your full name and the names any other people involved in the presentation (no more than three presenters in total)

The workshop sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes and should include sufficient time for questions and answers.

The selection panel will favour workshop proposals that can:

Offer practical hands-on advice from teaching professionals and for teaching professionals
Support the conference theme and strands (as listed above)
Refer to examples from experience (and research where available): what works and what does not
Emphasise new ideas, innovative approaches and fresh perspectives
