The IOE Confucius Institute for Schools is holding two teacher training events for speakers of Chinese who are interested in learning how to teach Chinese to school-age students or improve their existing skills. The events will combine the expertise of experienced teachers, trainers and authors of the popular textbooks；they will provide participants with guidance on classroom teaching of Chinese language and culture.
The focus of the events will be on the effective use of course books. The sessions will cover teaching resources analysis, lesson planning, strategies in teaching Chinese characters, embedding culture into the language lesson and other aspects of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in schools in England. The participants will have access to popular textbooks including Jinbu, Edexcel GCSE for Chinese, and the resources published by Hanban; Chinese Paradise, Kuaile Hanyu, Learn Chinese with me, and New Practical Chinese Reader.
