IOE CI Hanban Teacher CPD Event

On March 1st and 2nd 2013 IOE Confucius Institute Hanban teachers met in London and took part in a two day CPD training programme at the Institute of Education, University of London. During the two days, Katharine Carruthers and the CI team met and spent time together with the teachers. The 46 teachers had an opportunity to share their work experiences and to discuss various aspects of classroom teaching at schools in England.

They found Jennifer Buster’s session very helpful on classroom  management and motivating students. The teachers also enjoyed the fun moments when some of them did impressive performances including dancing, singing, cross talks and an impressive “Hanyu Style”!

The Hanban teachers are based at IOE CI’s 34 Confucius Classrooms across England.  They not only support the teaching and learning of Chinese in their own Confucius Classroom schools, but also primary and secondary schools in their local regions. They have acted as excellent ambassadors of Chinese language and culture. The IOE Confucius Institute are very proud of the achievements of our Hanban teachers.
